Thank you from RYPEN participants
"Sienna and I were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to participate in a RYPEN camp sponsored by rotary. We felt quite honoured to have been able to represent our school on this leadership camp. It was a 3 day camp from the 27th of April to the 29th. We were divided up into groups of people that we have never met before and took part in many different leadership building activities. From scavenger hunts to challenging high rope courses, both Sienna and I have developed leadership skills which we will be able to implement in our daily lives.
Apart from leadership skills we also discussed major issues dispersed within society. We were also lucky enough to take part in a ‘Reach’ workshop where we discussed self-esteem issues and how to be the best person we can possibly be. On Saturday night, we were able to experience what life is like for third world countries when it comes to the amount of food they have access to. This was a massive eye opener of the reality which countries such as India and Ethiopia are forced to suffer through every day.
Overall we really enjoyed our time at this camp and believe it was a beneficial learning experience for both myself and Sienna. We would like to genuinely thank The Rotary Club for sponsoring us and enabling us to gain valuable leadership skills which we will be able to implement into our daily lives"
