Build community Garden - Craig Family Centre
July 14, 2018, 8:30 am to July 14, 2018, 2:00 pm

Time to build a Community Garden this Saturday.

Anyone have a  wheelbarrow they can bring? Bring a shovel and gloves. Wear your RCEM shirt or RIA fluoro vest.

Firstly, admire the pergola for which RCEM funded the supplies…. and is finally built. We will arrange another working bee to paint.

We are creating the planter boxes from approx. 9 AM. (Delivery of 27 sleepers between 8:30 – 9 AM). To be constructed by Richard / Frank (please remember the saw!)  plus some helpers.

Warners Nursery are providing trees/shrubs for other areas of the community garden, and these need to be moved from delivery truck to required spot and planted – there will be other Craig FC and Warner’s volunteers.

Then around 11 AM (hopefully boxes built) , need to move 4.5 m3 of soil from delivery area to the boxes. Require wheelbarrows. Do you have one to bring?
Then plant herbs and other plants in the boxes. (Richard to put in irrigation later.)

Then a well-earned lunch …. and hopefully job done.
Cheers, Lyle
