President Michele's recap of the last 6 months

First for the last update for 2022, I would like to thank all Rotary Chadstone/East Malvern members for their support, belief and encouragement I have experienced during my first 6 months as President.

Reflecting back, I find it hard to believe 6 months of this Presidential year it is now coming to a close. What a first 6 months it has been!

10th Anniversary BusyFeet Annual Concert

Sunday 27th November was the date for our wonderful BusyFeet Annual concert. And an extra special event as it was it's 10th Anniversary.

We had a great turnout from the club and all were blessed to be in the room and experience the magic of this wonderful activity created by Past President Lin Hughes (dec.) She would have been watching from above. And wonderful to have Lin's daughters Kate and Lisa present for the 10th Anniversary.

WOW! And all of us doing the conga at the end was just perfect.πŸ˜€

Car Raffle from partnering Rotary Club raises $$ for RCEM

Thank you to Paul Rake who hooked up with Rotary Mooroopna to help them sell some of their Car Raffle tickets.

This partnership has resulted in $1,323 for our club. How wonderful it would be if one of our sales resulted in being a winner. Keep your fingers and toes crossed when it is drawn on 31st December. πŸ˜€

Good Luck to all who bought tickets. πŸ˜€

How's this for great feedback from our Market Stallholders

"Meant to write to thank you & your team for yet another great market at Phoenix Park on 19 Nov. I had a great day – thank you. As I said after my first Ashburton-a-Fair, I’ve never seen markets so well organised as your Rotary ones.

The publicity before the day (that draws a crowd of people prepared to buy), along with the care your team takes of us stallholders on the day is simply marvelous. The willing help to unload, a free coffee, high visibility of the team continuously throughout the day … & more … creates a vibe of friendliness, care, kindness

& community spirit that sends ripples of goodwill throughout. Very special.

Thank you to you & your team for all your help & support – very much appreciated." PW πŸ˜€

"I always love the markets and appreciate all the hard work that goes into them. I really love the fact that they support such great causes and help so many communities." RB πŸ˜€

A big shout out to the Market organising team for the amount of work you do prior to the events to ensure we have an event full of wonderful stallholders.  Tracey Farnsworth and Janet Massie in particular with the amazing work of Paul Rake on the day. The above message is a credit to each of you and to the rest of the members that help out. πŸ˜€

Kooyongkoot Alliance Plaque reveil uses RCEM Marquee

How was this for a great branding opportunity...........

Well done to our member Alick Osborne who very kindly lent our marquees for the unveiling of a plaque to commemorate the Queen’s Jubilee tree planting in Markham Reserve, Ashburton. 'Kooyongkoot Alliance' President Graham Ross and Federal Member for Higgins Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah did the honours. And it just happened that Michelle was guest speaker at our club the night prior. πŸ˜€

Also present were Boroondara Mayor Cr Jane Addis and member-elect for Ashwood Matt Fregon.

A few thousand more trees to plant next year. πŸŒ³

What a great RCEM Xmas Evening at Frank & Jo's

What a lovely evening we had at Frank & Jo's who very kindly opened their house for our club members and partners.  We had the best food - all homemade and simply scrumptious. And not to mention the best Mrs Claus we could ask for in Kathy Noble. πŸ˜€
