RESTORATION OF TOILETS AT TAPOUR SCHOOL
Rotary Chadstone East Malvern agreed in April 2023 to fund the restoration of one of the three blocks of toilets (five cubicles) at the Tapour (Cambodia) primary school that were overflowing with raw sewerage. This was a major health risk to students and teachers.
We are pleased to say that the project is complete. The ground conditions at the school were much rockier than expected and the work took longer to complete. The Club’s Board has agreed to pay $650 for the extra work.
Another organisation funded the restoration of the other two blocks (three cubicles) and fortunately also agreed to meet their share of the extra costs.
Tapour is the village in Cambodia where our big project to build Washroom Toilets will soon commence.
