Donation to Currajong
After 2 years of lock downs, mask wearing, strict social distancing and zoom meetings, it was great for Rotary Chadstone/East Malvern to be back for our annual visit to Currajong School.
Rhett Watson, the new Principle at Currajong school and his assistance Belinda, hosted 17 members of Rotary Chadstone/East Malvern on Wednesday night.
Currajong School aspire to develop students who will thrive in the new millennium. Rhett and his team, support students with social, emotional, and behavioural disorders and prepare them to transition into mainstream schools after approx. 3-5 years at Currajong.
After 2 years of not being able to meet face to face, we are now getting back to what we have always done. This includes supporting in our community where and when we can. Part of that support is contributing a part bursary that will assist a child being able to attend Currajong. This year Rotary Chadstone/East Malvern presented a cheque of $5200.00 to Rhett on the night after hearing from him on the challenges and changes implemented in the past 12 months and plans going forward.
Wednesday was also ‘Thank a First Responder’ Day. As club members we had the privilege of thanking the present and past first responders of our club, Tania Aisbett, Hein Otten, Michael Hayes & Rod Kenafacke.
As a club we look forward to continuing the relationship with Currajong School.
