Rochester Blanket and Doona Drive
When the call out come from our 9800 District Director of Service, Lili Teichman asking clubs to get behind the collection of blankets, doonas and heaters, Rotary Chadstone East Malvern members sprang into action.
Members of the community in Rochester are still suffering from the effects of the floods last year. This goes as far as to seeing people displaced, still with no choice but to live in caravans, tents, and sheds. As we know, winter in Victoria can be extremely cold, therefore the urgent need to support those in need.
Rotary Chadstone East Malvern members, together with members of our community, contributed a total of 30 units to the collection, along with further donations by other clubs within District 9800. Club Members also pitched in to transport and load the truck that transported a total of 580 units to the Rochester community.
